Code of Conduct for Felipe Hoyos International Psychology
At Felipe Hoyos International Psychology, we are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment that enables clients to engage openly and benefit fully from therapy. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and responsibilities of both clients and the Practice to ensure a positive and professional atmosphere for all.
1. Respectful Interaction
- For Clients: Please communicate respectfully with all staff and other individuals at the Practice, whether in person, by phone, or by email. Harassment, aggression, or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated.
- For the Practitioner: The therapist will interact with clients professionally, respectfully, and compassionately at all times, ensuring a safe and supportive space for all.
2. Confidentiality
- For Clients: We ask that clients respect the confidentiality of the therapeutic environment. Information about other clients, if inadvertently obtained, should not be shared.
- For the Practitioner: All information shared during therapy is confidential, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Dutch law, and will only be disclosed under legal obligations or when expressly agreed upon by the client.
3. Punctuality and Attendance
- For Clients: Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointments to ensure you can benefit fully from each session. If you anticipate being late or unable to attend, kindly inform the Practice as soon as possible.
- For the Practitioner: The therapist will ensure sessions begin and end at the scheduled times, maintaining respect for the client’s time and commitments.
4. Commitment to Therapy
- For Clients: Therapy is a collaborative process that requires active participation and commitment. We encourage clients to engage openly and attend sessions regularly for the best outcomes.
- For the Practitioner: The therapist will remain committed to each client’s therapeutic journey, providing a professional and supportive environment and helping clients work towards their personal goals.
5. Boundaries and Appropriate Behavior
- For Clients: Physical or verbal harassment, inappropriate behavior, or disrespect towards staff or other clients is strictly prohibited. This includes inappropriate comments or gestures, and any such behavior may lead to the termination of services.
- For the Practitioner: The therapist will maintain professional boundaries at all times and act in a manner consistent with ethical guidelines for mental health practitioners.
6. Communication Guidelines
- For Clients: Email is the preferred method for all non-urgent communications. While we understand that urgent matters may arise, please note that therapists are not always immediately available outside of session hours.
- For the Practitioner: The therapist will respond to client emails as promptly as possible, typically within business hours, and will inform clients if response times may vary.
7. Payment Responsibility
- For Clients: Clients are responsible for paying for sessions on time, as per the payment terms in our General Terms and Conditions. Failure to fulfill payment obligations may result in the suspension or termination of services.
- For the Practitioner: The Practice will issue clear invoices and maintain transparency regarding fees and payment schedules, as outlined in the Terms and Conditions.
8. Feedback and Concerns
- For Clients: Open communication is essential to successful therapy. If any concerns arise, clients are encouraged to bring them up directly with the therapist so they can be addressed collaboratively and constructively.
- For the Practitioner: The therapist is open to receiving feedback and will address any issues professionally, ensuring that clients feel heard and respected throughout their therapy experience.
9. Adherence to Dutch Law
- Both clients and the practitioner agree to follow all applicable Dutch laws, including those related to data protection, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in therapy.
This Code of Conduct is designed to ensure the comfort and safety of all parties. Felipe Hoyos International Psychology reserves the right to update this Code periodically, and clients will be informed of any changes. Thank you for helping us create a respectful and productive therapeutic environment.
